The Briggs and Riley Traveler Backpack is a stylish and roomy travel bag. It offers the most space for your items. The bag is perfect for weekends, vacations, and business trips. It can also be used as a gym bag when you’re not traveling.
This article contains a Briggs and Riley Traveler Backpack Review and a list of pros and cons. Additionally, I have included some pictures of the backpacks so you can see how they look and feel.
Overview of Briggs and Riley
The Briggs & Riley backpack is one of my go-to backpacks for school or college trips. It’s comfortable, holds everything I need, and has a durable design. Plus, it’s reasonably priced, and most importantly, its quality and durability were well worth every cent I spent on it.
The first thing I like about this backpack is its comfort. When you open the zipper, you feel how sturdy it is, which assures you that it won’t break easily.
Despite wearing it for several days, it keeps its shape due to its polyester and nylon combination. The lining and padded back are designed to help support your back.
Briggs and Riley Traveler Bag
This bag has ample space because it features plenty of pockets to hold all your stuff. There’s enough room for your laptop, phone, schoolbooks, books, supplies, and anything else you need. The main compartment is divided into a front pocket, a main pocket, and a zip-up pocket at the bottom.
The backpack is durable, so it won’t wear out after using it for a while. It has a removable shoulder strap, so you can lay it on the ground when not in use. There’s also a detachable belt for when you want to carry the pack over your shoulders instead.
If you accidentally drop it, the backpack will withstand that, as it comes with a removable safety lock.
While this backpack is designed primarily for students, it could be a good choice for older kids since it’s lightweight and portable. It’s easy to carry anywhere, and it’s light enough to be carried for long distances too. Hence, if you want a backpack you can carry from one place to another, you’ll find this one ideal.
Briggs and Riley Luggage Review
I’ve used a few backpack brands for my backpacking trips, but this one is probably the best I’ve used. It does the job quite nicely and holds plenty of supplies.
This one is the same quality as the Briggs & Riley brand. The heavy-duty ballistic nylon construction makes it highly durable and reliable.
As for size, it’s just large enough to carry what you need, and nothing more.
Features
Design
We think you’ll be impressed with the rugged design and durable construction of the Outsider, which is a top performer in our testing.
Rugged ballistic nylon makes it resistant to water and wear, and its zippers are protected by zipper tape. Heavy-duty thread reinforces the stitching.
Slip-Through Back Panel
In addition to offering the best protection in our tests, the Outsider is easy to store, carry, and access when needed. It’s rollable and unrollable, but we prefer it rolled up to take along for travel.
You can slide it through a bag handle and use it as your base to attach your luggage. Or you can also pack it inside a suitcase and use it to create a makeshift duffel.
Laptop Pocket
The main compartment has a padded laptop pocket with elastic sides that stretch to fit laptops and tablets. It’s big enough for a 14-inch laptop or 13-inch tablet, plus a laptop charger.
You can also store accessories like chargers and power banks here. The interior has a zipper pocket to store smaller items like earbuds and a map.
Fabric and Design
Briggs and Riley have used the same fabric as its other bags to create a strong and durable design that will stand up to everyday use and abuse.
We tested the Outrider with a 15-inch MacBook Pro, which protected the laptop from drops and bumps. It’s also extremely durable, as it can withstand water immersion tests in our lab for up to 12 hours.
You also get a discreet ID tag and a SpeedThru pocket. This pocket is perfect for storing your wallet and passport so you can easily access them on the go. The orange lining indicates that the pocket is open and ready for use.
Pros
Excellent design
Sleek and modernistic
Soft and smooth material
Large laptop compartment
Hidden ID tag
A variety of compartments for a variety of items
Good storage capacity
Cons
Can’t slide the laptop compartment up and down
How Can You Use the Briggs and Riley Traveler Bag?
You can use the Outsider as your primary travel bag or a secondary, everyday carry item. It’s small enough to store in overhead baggage compartments at the airport, train station, or bus stop.
The exterior is easy to spot and fits neatly into a larger compartment, saving valuable space.
This versatile bag is great for traveling, work, and school. The sturdy construction and robust features mean that you won’t have to worry about carrying an extra bag every time you leave the house.
Who owns Briggs and Riley?
United States Luggage Company, LLC owns Briggs and Riley with its headquarters in New York.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for a spacious backpack that’s versatile enough to carry a computer or laptop, then I highly recommend the Traveler 2. It fits two standard-sized laptops without a problem, plus you can fit your iPad inside the zippered section.
